AIOLIA – Operationalizing AI ethics for learning and practice: a global apporach

The AIOLIA project provides a structured and research-driven approach to addressing the practical challenges of interpreting and implementing AI regulation. Built on a strong European foundation, AIOLIA offers a three-tier framework aimed at supporting policymakers, researchers, and institutions as they navigate the complex landscape of AI governance.

At the same time, AIOLIA adopts a global perspective. The project collaborates with leading academic and policy institutions in China, South Korea, Japan, and Canada, and works through UNESCO platforms to engage with partners across Africa and South Asia. This international dimension ensures that AIOLIA’s work is informed by diverse cultural, legal, and ethical contexts.

The project’s outputs include evolving guidelines and an analytical toolbox designed to contribute to international dialogue on AI, support fair scientific cooperation, and offer culturally grounded tools for the development of ethical AI systems.

Euractiv contributes to the project as a communication partner, helping to ensure that AIOLIA’s research and insights are shared across the European policy landscape. Through this involvement, Euractiv supports broader understanding and discussion of the global implications of AI policy.
