‘At least five’ Apple products coming next week – here’s what’s likely

Apple will announce a series of new products next week, prior to its in-person “experience” event on March 4. That’s according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman who expects a new iPhone and new Mac computers to be on the agenda.

In his latest Power On Newsletter, Gurman said Apple will begin unveiling “at least five” new products on Monday March 2, calling it a “three-day blitz” of announcements. This will be prior to the media event a couple of days later, which is likely planned to give the press a hands-on look at the new hardware.

The headline-making device is “very likely” to be the new, more affordable MacBook model that’s expected to arrive in a choice of “fun” colours and may be powered by an A-Series chip to keep the price down.

Furthermore, the iPhone 17e is set for the off, packing the same A19 processor as the flagship iPhone 17. This handset might include some of the missing features from the 16e, including MagSafe charging and the C1X 5G modem Apple uses in its flagship phones. It’ll also have the N1 chip that handles Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Thread connectivity, Gurman reports. The erstwhile Apple-watcher has previously predicted the phone won’t get a price bump either.

Next up, we could see a new iPad Air model running the M4 chip as well as the first MacBook Pro models to offer the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, likely ensuring the most powerful MacBook models ever made. The MacBook Air may get the base M5 chip (my M2 model is starting to feel a bit long in the tooth, so I’ll have a keen eye on this possibility) and there’s also the chance of a new Mac Studio and Mac Studio Display model.

The report represents Gurman’s expectations for the event, but all is likely to be revealed after the weekend. The Apple Experience events in London, New York and Shanghai will likely provide the first look at the refreshed hardware.
