General Motors plans to cut a few hundred jobs from its information technology division, Bloomberg ‌News ⁠reported ⁠on Monday.

The ​move will affect about 500 ​to 600 employees, according to the ​report, which ⁠cites people ‌familiar ​with ​the matter.

“GM is ⁠transforming its Information Technology organization to better position the company for the future. As part of that work, we ‌have made the difficult decision to eliminate ⁠certain roles globally,” the Detroit automaker told Reuters in a statement on Monday.
