Anthropic has announced a tool called Skills for Claude to help use AI agents better for specific tasks done within a company. Skills for Claude has folders with instructions, scripts and resources that can be loaded into Claude to improve it.

Users can also build their own specialists with Skills for Claude tailored according to their job roles.

Skills is already being used in the Claude apps to create files for spreadsheets and presentations. Now, users can build their own skills for Claude apps, Claude Code and via the Claude API.

“While working on tasks, Claude scans available skills to find relevant matches. When one matches, it loads only the minimal information and files needed—keeping Claude fast while accessing specialized expertise,” a blog posted by the firm explained.

Users won’t be required to manually search for a skill; Claude can automatically match the relevant skill with the task. They can also follow the chain-of-thought process.

Anthropic’s blog also shared that companies like Canva, Rakuten and Box were already using Skills for Claude.

The tool will be available for Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise users.
