Apple is set to release a software update for its AirPods Max, enhancing the headphones with lossless audio and ultra-low latency capabilities. Apple claims the update will deliver an unparalleled listening experience, particularly benefiting music production professionals.

The update will unlock 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio on AirPods Max, ensuring that the original integrity of recordings is preserved. This feature will allow listeners to enjoy music as it was intended by the artists in the studio.

Additionally, lossless audio will extend to Personalised Spatial Audio, offering a more accurate and immersive listening experience.

Apple claims these headphones to be the only ones that allow musicians to create and mix in Personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking, thanks to the USB-C cable. Gamers and livestreamers will also benefit from the ultra-low latency audio, which reduces lag time and enhances the overall experience.
