The company said Bhartia will lead business finance for Flipkart’s in-house logistics unit, eKart.

Bhartia has previously held senior positions at companies such as GE and the South Korean ecommerce platform Coupang.
“We are delighted to welcome Gunjan to Flipkart. His experience in transformation finance, capital discipline, and governance will add significant strength to eKart while supporting the Group’s long-term value creation,” said Ravi Iyer, chief financial officer, Flipkart.
Leadership churn
Over the past two years, Flipkart has seen a leadership shake-up. This appointment comes two months after Dunzo cofounder Kabeer Biswas, who was the vice president at Flipkart Minutes, left the company.
In May 2025, top Flipkart executive Ankit Jain joined Instamart as SVP. In February 2024, its marketplace and categories leader Amitesh Jha, fintech and payments head Dheeraj A, and growth and retention head Bharath Ram exited the company.
In 2024, Flipkart-backed travel booking website Cleartrip’s head Ayyappan R also left the company to build First Club, a grocery delivery platform.
Shifting domicile
Flipkart is in the process of shifting its domicile from Singapore to India. On December 15, ET reported that Flipkart had received clearance from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for the domicile shift.
The ecommerce major, which plans to file draft papers for its IPO this year, has also sought approval from the central government under Press Note 3 rules for shifting its base.
Under these rules, implemented in 2020, any foreign investment coming into a domestic company from a country that shares a land border with India needs government clearance.
Since Chinese investor Tencent holds 5-6% of Flipkart, the company needs the centre’s nod for the move.
