Alienware, nee Dell, makes some of the most affordable OLED monitors from any major brand. And, in the lead-up to the big Black Friday sales, it looks like you can get an amazing deal on one of the most popular models. Right now Amazon is offering a 34-inch ultrawide OLED gaming monitor for just $499.99, $600 off the original retail price.
This is the AW3423DWF, a familiar sight to anyone who’s been following the OLED gaming monitor space. With a 34-inch ultrawide panel in the semi-standard 3440×1440 resolution, it’s a great size for anyone who wants a little extra fidelity without the performance impact of a full 4K monitor. And, at 165Hz of refresh, it’s plenty fast enough for most users unless you demand absolute cutting-edge speed for online multiplayer. For more info, check out PCWorld’s review of this monitor.
Despite the gorgeous OLED visuals, Alienware’s monitors are on the “budget” side of this particular market niche. That means no USB-C video for easy access to gaming laptops, though the AW3423DWF does come with four USB-A ports (two on the bottom for easy access) to function as a basic hub. Otherwise you’re limited to HDMI and double DisplayPort inputs, with only a little RGB bling ’round the back. But it does have a standard VESA mount if you want to add on a monitor arm.
Amazon has marked this as a “Black Friday Deal” with no Prime subscription required, so I’d expect it to stick around for at least a week… assuming that it doesn’t go out of stock.
