Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who met Chuck Robbins, CEO of Cisco, at Sanchar Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday (July 8, 2025), encouraged Cisco, a Californian technology provider, to deepen its footprint in India’s rapidly evolving digital technology landscape.

Mr. Scindia, who is Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, urged Cisco to explore broader investment opportunities in India’s digital technology sector, highlighting the country’s emergence as a global hub for innovation, investment and a fast-growing market.

‘’As India accelerates towards a tech-driven future, we are happy to welcome Cisco to further expand its engagement and co-create solutions that drive inclusive, resilient, and future-ready digital growth,’‘ said the Minister.

Responding to the Minister’s invitation, Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer, Cisco, who was also part of the meeting, said in an X post that “We look forward to doubling down on opportunities that we can jointly pursue and get technology in the hands of more and more people to ensure that we make it an inclusive future for all.”

Underscoring the importance of building solutions that uplift the common man, the minister stressed Bharat’s pivotal role in driving the 6G revolution and India’s growing momentum in artificial intelligence (AI).

In his conversations with Mr. Robbins, Mr. Scindia also emphasised the importance of developing ecosystems beyond physical infrastructure that empower communities and prepare future generations.

As part of its India expansion, Cisco inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in Chennai in 2024. From a software development and R&D point of view, India has been an important market for Cisco in the last couple of decades.
