Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 unveiled along with Xiaomi Pad 8 series: Features, price and India launch

Xiaomi on Saturday (February 28, 2026) unveiled the Xiaomi 17 series featuring Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 at the Mobile World Congress 2026. The series comes with optical set up co-engineered with German lens maker Leica. The new Xiaomi 17 series will be launched on March 11 in India. The Chinese smartphone brand also showcased the Xiaomi Pad 8 series.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes with a 6.9 inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness. It claims a weight of 218.4 grams, bears an aluminum alloy frame, and an IP68 rating for protection against dust and moisture. It comes in in White, Black, or stunning Starlit Green colours.

Similarly, Xiaomi 17 has 6.3 inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness. It claims 191 grams of weight, and IP68 certification. It will be available in Venture Green, Alpine Pink, Ice Blue, and classic Black.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra gets a 6,000 mAh battery along with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support. The Xiaomi 17 ships with a 6,300 mAh battery, complimented by a 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Both, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 run on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. They operate on Xiaomi HyperOS 3.5 out of the box.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor. It sports a 50 MP main along with a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50 MP ultrawide lens. The 200MP 75–100mm camera features a 75–100mm mechanical optical zoom. It has a 50 MP front camera as well.

Pricing

Xiaomi 17 starts €999 (around ₹1,07,197). Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts €1,499 (around ₹1,60,850).

Xiaomi Pad 8 series

Xiaomi Pad 8 series comes with 11.2-inch 3.2K display, offering up to 800 nits of brightness and a 144 Hz refresh rate. Both models come with a 9,200 mAh battery.

They run on the new Xiaomi HyperOS 3 that claims new interface features updated lock screens, wallpapers, and desktop elements. The new HyperOS 3 offers updated split-screen layout and now supports a 5:5 vertical split view, and introduces the new horizontal 1:9 split ratio.

Workstation Mode on Xiaomi Pad 8 series has been upgraded, expanding the number of apps that can be retained in the Dock to display more quick-access apps. It also supports PC-level Browser on Xiaomi Pad 8 series.

Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and gets a 67W charger. It sports a 50 MP rear camera and a 32 MP front camera. The Pro model offers up to 512 GB of storage.

Xiaomi Pad 8 gets the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, a 45W charger. It comes with a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera, and will be offer up to 256 GB of storage.

Xiaomi Pad 8 series also brings a new Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro stylus weighing around 17.5 grams. It features pressure-sensitive control with intuitive pinch and double-tap gestures. This series also supports accessories, including Xiaomi Pad 8 / 8 Pro Focus Keyboard, Xiaomi Pad 8 / 8 Pro Keyboard, and Xiaomi Pad 8 / 8 Pro Cover.

Xiaomi Pad 8 will come in Pine Green, Gray, and Blue. Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro will sell in Pine Green, Gray, and Blue shades.

Pricing

Xiaomi Pad 8 comes with 3 storage variants, starting from €449.9 (around ₹48,276). Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro comes with 3 storage variants, starting from €549.9. (around ₹59,007).
